Hypnotic Face is a band from the Czech Republic, it was formed late in 1994 by: Vilda Slinták-guitar & vocals, Radek Bob Bednár-guitar, and Prichystals brothers-bass & drums. Line up now: Vladka Liskutinova - bass, Vilda Slintak - guitar & vocals, Vladimir Ebert - drums and Radek BoB Bednar - guitar. They released an album in 1999 - Written By Life [EP].
A new album is on it`s way: The End Of Sanity. There is only one problem, the bands record company Insanity Records are dead..... We talked to Radek BoB Bednar:

So what`s happening at the moment, are there any record companies in sight?

Unfortunately still no one in sight. But that bad thing with our label happened just a few weeks ago and now we are just on the point of starting looking for a new one!! So I can't tell you more at the moment.

Can you tell us who your main influences are?

I wouldn't call it influence, because we don't copy anyone's music and we create our own style. Always when we trying to play new song and it reminds some other band, we throw it out. But if you wanna know the bands we like, it would be a really long list. Maybe I'd rather tell you the bands playing similar style: Xentrix, Sacred Reich, Flotsam & Jetsam, Testament, OverKill, Anthrax .... It is probably better for the readers to understand what we play. But this time is the best to visit our website and listen to some our songs. Later of course to buy our CD!!!

You have previously released an EP, how are the "new" stuff compared to the older?

There are no differences!! It is still the same HF style. We have been playing this music almost ten years and we don't want to change anything. That's why we could put some older songs to the new album. But you know, the important is that all of those songs are original, and each one sounds a little bit different.

What about your lyrics. Who writes them, and what are them about?

It is similar like music. Each one is a little bit different. But generally I can say that the title of an album is always saying: The End Of Sanity. All the lyrics are about insanity in life: women, wars, religions, alcohol... Most of them are written by me.

I know you onced opened up for Overkill, how was that, and are there any new gigs planned?

It was strange!! First it was our dream to play with such band. Second was the experience with their crew and managers atc... But the gig was great. Really.
Unfortunately, we have no manager or promoter now, that's why we are not planning any gigs at the moment. If you know someone good, tell me please!!

You are from the Czech Republic - how is the thrash scene there?

Ha ha, I don't think we have any thrash scene here. You know, our republic is a mecca of death, grind and doom bands. Creazy. But I don't like these styles, and I don't listen to these bands.

There are a few thrash metal bands, they are not bad, but nothing special (but us of course :)). Exception is just the most famous thrash band here Arakain. They sell tens thousand copies of their albums.
